This is probably the easiest dish I’ve ever made. The satisfaction comes with just a little efforts…
Everything you need is just to prepare the meat. The best meat in my opinion is the beef prepared for hot pot. You should see it in your local Asian grocery stores.
All the ingredients are easy to get. Down to earth - nothing special. It’s probably not as perfect as the ones served in the restaurants but it is just so simple to make especially when you are busy working from home.
Ingredients
1/2
Pound Beef slices for hotpot
1
Bowl Cooked Rice
1/2
Pound Onions
4~5
Teaspoon Water
3
Teaspoon Soy Sauce
2
Teaspoon Mirin
1
Teaspoon Sake
Sesame
optional
Sliced seaweed
optional
Steps
- Step 1: Prepare a bowl of cooked rice
- Step 2: Prepare a hot pan over high heat
- Step 3: Mix all the sauce (water/soy sauce/mirin/sake) in one container
- Step 4: Put in the onions on the pan without any oil. Let it cook a little (approx 30 seconds) until softened
- Step 5: Add the mixed sauce into the pan. Cover the pan over high heat until the onions turn dark
- Step 6: Add the beef slices
- Step 7: Place everything on top of a bowl of rice including the juice
- Step 8: Optionally, add some sesame and sliced seaweed on top
- Step 9: Enjoy!
