Pasta with tomato, broccoli and shrimp

It is fairly easy to make pasta at home especially during the busy hours if anyone is suffering the working-from-home environent.

This recipe only shows a baseline version of the roasted tomato flavored pasta. You can add even more vegetables or seafood if you prefer. The broccoli and shrimps have been, for me, delicious enough for this simple type of dish.


  • 1/2 

    lb pasta

  • tbsp olive oil

  • 16 

    oz broccoli

  • cloves garlic

  • 1/2 

    lb shrimp

  • tbsp black pepper

  • oz fresh tomato

  • 4-5 

    tbsp roasted Garlic Pasta Sauce

  • tbsp salt

  • 6-8 

    oz onion


  • Step 1: In a large pot of boiling water, add a lot of salt into the water (about 6 tbsp) and a drizzle of olive oil
  • Step 2: Cook the pasta in the boiling water according to the time instructed from the package
  • Step 3: While the pasta is being cooked, add 1 tbsp of olive oil over the medium heat pan. Add garlics and lightly fry them with the oil.
  • Step 4: Chop the onion into small dices
  • Step 5: As the garlics turn a little golden, add the shrimps and fry them until they turn pink.
  • Step 6: Add the diced onion into the pan.
  • Step 7: Add the black pepper to trigger more flavor.
  • Step 8: It is time to add the pasta sauce from your preference. I’ll add 4-5 tbsp of it.
  • Step 9: Add the fresh broccoli into the pan. Toss them gently and mix them together.
  • Step 10: At the same time, add the salted water from the pasta boiling pot until you think it is ready.
  • Step 11: Add the cooked pasta into the pan. Mix all the ingredients gently and cook it for 30 seconds.
  • Step 12: Serve the pasta with joy. You can add a drizzle of olive oil or any cheese if you like.
